Your insurance cover is potentially valid worldwide and for up to 45 days per trip. Most of your policy benefits may apply anywhere in the world, with a few exceptions:
- FCDO exceptions: your cover will not apply in countries, regions or areas where the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against all travel or all but essential travel.
- United Kingdom exceptions: certain covers have limitations when travelling within the UK, including:
- Events typically covered by other domestic policies (e.g., liability insurance).
- Covers designed primarily for international travel (e.g., winter sports cover).
Important eligibility criteria:
- Trips with a total duration of more than 45 days are excluded from coverage.
- You must hold an active Monzo Max or Monzo Max Family subscription:
- At the time of any incident during your trip
- From the beginning until the end of your trip.
- Trips must begin and end in the UK with both outward and inbound travel tickets purchased (if any) before the trip begins. Trips with only one way or open tickets are not covered.
Can I claim insurance for trips within the UK?
Yes, UK trips may be covered if they meet the following conditions:
- The destination is more than 100 km from your home.
- The trip total duration doesn't exceed 45 days.
- The trip includes at least two overnight stays.
- The accommodation is booked before your departure.
Are there any limitations?
Yes, the following coverages are not included for trips within the UK:
- Personal possessions mugging
- Emergency medical expenses and assistance
- Hospital benefit
- Personal liability
- Overseas legal expenses
- Winter sports
- Rental vehicle excess.
