A travel insurance certificate is a document confirming that you have valid travel insurance. It shows your travel dates, destination, and that you're covered in case of emergencies while abroad.
Who can request this certificate?
To be eligible, you must:
Have a Monzo Premium, Max or Max Family plan
Be travelling outside the UK
Need the certificate specifically to complete a visa application.
If you meet all three, you can request your certificate online.
How do I request a travel insurance certificate?
You can easily request a dated travel insurance certificate with the form available in your Monzo app. In this form, you should fill in:
- Your destination country
The start and end dates of your trip
IF and only IF you hold a Monzo Max Family plan, the names of family members travelling with you.
Can I include other travellers in the certificate?
Yes, you can include the names of family members travelling with you, but there are two requirements to meet:
- You hold a Monzo Max Family plan
- The dates and destination of your family members have to be the same as yours.
What if I’m travelling alone?
If you're the only person travelling, the process is even simpler. You just need to complete the form with your travel details.
Can I request more than one certificate if I visit multiple countries?
You can request a separate certificate for each country you're visiting. For example, if you're travelling from the UK to Portugal, then from Portugal to Antigua, you can have a certificate for each leg of your journey. This ensures you have proof of coverage throughout your trip, such as during a cruise.
How long does it take to receive the certificate?
You should receive your certificate shortly after submitting the form - assuming everything is complete and correct.
