It depends on the type of cover and when you upgraded your Monzo account.

General cover:
- Starts on or after the date you upgrade your Monzo account to Premium or Max.
- Applies to trips that begin after your account upgrade.
- Can cover trips booked before the upgrade, as long as the departure date is after the upgrade.
Cancellation cover:
- Begins when you book your trip.
- Stops when your trip begins.
Important notes:
- If you upgrade your account while on a trip, that trip is not covered.
- To benefit from cancellation cover, you must upgrade before making any travel bookings.
